Unlimited peers, free
Any number of instances, nodes, devices, or users. No registration, no license key, no quantity limit — that promise is in the license grant itself, not just on this page.
Private by default
A fresh node is searchable by you and invisible to everyone else. Nothing is announced to any network until you create or join a mesh.
Redistribution is allowed
Official binaries may be carried unmodified through package managers, container registries, distro repositories, and your own internal mirrors.
License
Gnarl is source-available software under the Lucenia Competitive Extraction License LCEL-1.0. It is not an OSI-approved open source license. In short: study it, run it, build on it, and redistribute the official binaries unmodified — but do not use it, or representations derived from it, as raw material for building a competing product, whether by hand or with automated systems.

The node repository itself is private; the artifacts are not.
Verify what you downloaded
Every artifact is published with a checksum, and redistribution of an official binary is conditioned on that checksum still verifying. Check it before you run it — especially if you got the file from a mirror rather than from here.
